Our History
Transforming Young Lives Through AgricultureOUR HISTORY
At Ag4Youth™ (A4Y), we empower at-promise through the transformative power of hands-on ranching.
Our roots trace back to 2000 at Mount La Salle Ranch, where founder Paul Tarap mentored underserved youth through the Christian Brothers’ community programs. When these initiatives ended in 2008, Paul’s unwavering commitment led him to relocate the program to his family’s ranch. By 2011, with strong community backing, Ag4Youth emerged as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Federal Tax ID# 36-471699). In 2013, we relocated to our current location, a 2-acre ranch owned by The Napa Valley Horsemen’s Association, allowing us to expand our impact.

Yet Ag4Youth cultivates more than agricultural expertise – we nurture essential life skills.
Through daily responsibilities and meaningful achievements, our participants develop:
- A strong work ethic
- Compassion for others
- Lasting self-confidence
- Financial responsibility
- Leadership abilities
Join us in shaping brighter futures through the transformative power of agriculture and mentorship. Whether as a family seeking opportunities for growth or a community partner sharing our vision, you can help create pathways to success for tomorrow’s leaders.
